Clueless English Punters

Hello,

never been to America before but thought Miami would be as good a place to start as any, going for 2 weeks with a mate in june and was wondering if anyone could point me towards some friendly nightspots and sights,

Cheers!

Muddling Mancunians!

We love the English!

On Miami Beach, there are three different apartments for rent by private owner by the sea.

They are about $100US per night. Please contact

http://www.tripadvisor.com/members/windyrec via this website or psojimnavarro@aol.com to reserve one of them...

There are lots of friendly pubs in the English and Irish style to hoist a Guinness and find fellow Brits. We%26#39;ve got ManU on the telly.

It will be like you%26#39;re home EXCEPT there will be sunshine.

Here are some maps of the area PRINT THESE:

southbeach-usa.com/maps/miami-beach-maps.htm

At the corner of Lincoln/Washington Ave is a storefront to book a DUCK tour, featuring a motor coach that is able to drive right into the Bay so your land tour becomes a boat ride as well. Miami Beach has a great deal to see via the inland waterways. You can also take walking tours of the Art Deco landscape via the MDPL preservation league 10/Ocean or our wonderful Wolfsonian Museum at 10/Washington Avenue. The museum is an amazing way to spend an afternoon if you would enjoy a little culture with your sunshine...

Inexpensive dining is available all over the Beach. Lincoln Mall has many great shops and cafes to choose. I like Spris Pizza, Pizza Rustica, Le Bon Belgian, Davids II Cuban, Miss Yip%26#39;s Chinese, and the Ice Box for Brunch. Nearby, on Liberty Avenue closer to the Beach is Parilla Liberty for grilled meats and a great patio bar and Football (uh - that%26#39;s soccer) action at the bar. Irish style pubs for English style football matches include Playwright on Washington or Finnegans on Ocean or the Finnegans on Lincoln Road Mall).

South of Lincoln at 14th is Espanola Way - Drink at Oh Mexico! , eat at Hosteria Romana, Tapas Y Tintos, A La Folie Bakery, and play at Lost Weekend Pub for billiards, darts and beer beer beer. On the Ocean - drink at the pool bar called Clevelander at 10/Ocean and another Finnegans at 14th and Ocean... they have happy hour 2 for 1 pricing after 4 and dinner specials including steaks after 6pm weeknights.

If you hire a car - consider driving SOUTH to see the Florida Keys. Orlando is kids stuff but for boys like you, why not a Keys GREAT ADVENTURE... look:

As long as you can swim, the park has all-inclusive boat trips out to a shallow area over the most breathtaking reefs for snorkelling. The crew carefully demonstrates how to snorkel and provides safety equipment. You will want to bring: bathing suit, towel, STRONG sunscreen, and maybe a dry change of clothes. Try not to think about that crocodile hunter guy getting killed by the stingray (uh - do not JUMP on a stingray and you should live longer than he did!)

Honestly - It%26#39;s BEAUTIFUL out there...

There are also glass bottom boat tours for the non-wet-set... Tours are 2 陆 hours long. The Spirit Of Pennekamp departs three times daily, at 9:15, 12:15, and 3:00. Tickets are $22 for adults and $15 for children under 12.

From 8:00 am until 3:45 pm, they offer canoe and sea kayak rentals for exploring the wild, winding mangrove creeks of the park. Prices for canoes are $12 per hour

From Miami Beach, take 95 south to 836 west to 826 southbound following the signs to Florida%26#39;s Turnpike south to US 1. Take US 1 to Key Largo. Look for the State Park entrance on your left at Mile Marker 102.5.

Something else your group might enjoy - Everglades alligator adventures...

Coopertown, itself, is home to a population of 8 human residents, a restaurant known for its down-home style frog legs, an educational center and the entry point to guided tours into the ';real'; Florida Everglades aboard the Coopertown Airboat fleet! Great fun...

You have plenty of time to get organized so start reading up on these websites and let me know if you have any questions...

Have a Great Trip!
