Could anyone urgently advise us please of transport options to get to Llangollen in Wales, from Manchester Airport? Likewise, from Llangollen on a Sunday, returning either to Manchester or London. Thankyou for your help.

Wow! I have no idea how that happened as I was reading the Manchester UK forum at the time. I%26#39;ll try to post the query again and hope I do it correctly this time. Sorry about that!

Don%26#39;t worry greymatter you have a friendly Mancunian on hand to help. If you google British Rail and then go to journey planner you will get loads of options fares etc.

Thankyou for taking the trouble to reply! I have already been into the UK rail site but it seems that trains don%26#39;t go into Llangollen. In the meantime, I have established that Manchester Airport is about an hour and ten minutes away from Llangollen, so I am now trying hard to find any direct bus services that would get us there by mid to late afternoon. I AM sorry to hi-jack the wrong Forum!!

The problem is that Llangollen is a historic railway line and now no longer served by British Rail.

Rent a car? Or ask a friend to drop you ... it%26#39;s only a little over an hour away. In the USA we would do that in a heartbeat.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what is the best way to get from YVR to Whistler - we%26#39;re going there for the 2010 Olympics, and don%26#39;t want to miss the alpine skiing, especially the downhill.

As an accommodation provider in the Llangollen area, I suggest you contact the place you intend to stay. We are a friendly lot, and have been known to collect guests from airports, bus and rail stations.

Otherwise, train from Manchester Airport to Chester and then bus from Chester to Llangollen. Look at www.traveline-cymru.org.uk
