First named storm of the season

Tropical Storm Andrea, headed for north Florida.

Stay safe everyone, hopefully this goes back into the ocean before hitting hurricane status.

First named storm of the season

Don%26#39;t scare people! It%26#39;s weaker than it was yesterday, nobody%26#39;s saying hurricane, the area%26#39;s on fire, we need the rain and never mind the sever draught we%26#39;re going through.......Andrea, come on in!

First named storm of the season

Its actually a subtropical storm. The difference is that the factors that fuel a tropical storm and can cause one to intensify to a possible hurricane aren%26#39;t present with this storm. Andrea is showing winds of 45 MPH and hopefully a lot of rain, because the whole state needs it.

We call 45 MPH winds ';a little breezy'; here.

Didn%26#39;t mean to scare people! I know Fla needs the rain (I have family near Tampa)! I was just suprised at how early it was.

Hopefully this storm will bring some much needed rain to Florida and southern Georgia.

Listening to the local weather forecasts last night, it doesn%26#39;t sound like we%26#39;re going to get enough rain from it. It%26#39;s lingering and weaking off the coast, I imagine the only damage it will do will be erosion to the east coast beaches. The smoke was bad again parts of yesterday and last night -- we really could use a good rain!

Yep, there saying its not going to bring us much rain on the west coast. Boy, we really could use it.

I%26#39;ve been riding my motorcycles to my office in Jacksonville Beach. Trust me, it%26#39;s pretty mild. So far ;)

Pirate John - was that you taking all that heat on rec.motorcycles? Who was that guy?

Pjk

There%26#39;s a storm?

In other ';news,'; the sun will be rising tomorrow.

NBD. Look for the ones that develop over the Equitorial Atlantic off the coast of Africa or in the southern Carribean off the coast of S. America. Those are the ones that we pay close attention to.
