Longbeach Resort

Hey, we stayed at Longbeach 4 years ago and LOVED it!! We are coming back in July and are really excited. I was looking at the area and saw the new condo beside of Longbeach---can anyone tell me about it? Is it already open??

Which side of Long Beach? We%26#39;re staying at Ocean Ritz which is brand new. It%26#39;s at 10611 Front Beach Rd. Twin Palms is between Ocean Ritz and Long Beach. I%26#39;m not sure if that%26#39;s the one.

If you are looking out at the ocean it is on the left, toward Pineapple Willie%26#39;s. I think the name of it is Shores of Panama.

Is Shores of panama open? I was concerned some because it looks like so many rooms, but so little beachfront. These people have to go somewhere. I just wondered how crowded the beach in front of Longbeach is going to be in the future.

Shores of Panama officially opens July 1. It is located next door to Pineapple Willies %26amp; Long Beach Resort. We were scheduled to stay there 6/17-25 but they called last week and said they would not be open until 7/1 and that owners would be moving in during the time we would have been there. Bummer because we have had our reservations with them since February (was suppose to open May 15) But as of last week they still did not have their certificate of occupancy. It looks like it is going to be a really nice resort once everything is up and running. The rates are lower this year due to just opening up however next year will be a different story. You can rent through www.vrbo.com %26amp; save a bunch but you can get a reasonable rate going through them directly at www.sterlingresorts.com or 1-8665RESORT

GaGirl----Out of curiousity, did Mgmt at Shores of Panama refund your deposit and did they make reservations for you somewhere else? I%26#39;d hate to know I had reservations made since February and then in May find out I can%26#39;t get in where I wanted and had to scramble for a place to stay w/in a month of travel.

My son%26#39;s coach got an email last week from Sterling Resorts stating that the resort would be up and running and that they had gotten there certificate of occupancy then 2 days later an email saying they would not be up and running and that they would move us to Sterling Beach (they only had 3 bdrms available at SB) and that they would honor the same rate as SOP. We all were happy with that. Then the next day they called and said we would have to pay the $500-$600 difference if we wanted to stay there. They offered to put us at Splash but only at a minimal discount and we had to argue to get even that (It was still more than SOP and we were downsized to 1 bdrms with only 4 families being able to get the 2 bdrms because Splash is booked. Needless to say we have some very unhappy parents. My husband and I decided that we didn%26#39;t want to pay the huge difference at Splash so we cancelled our reservations and Sterling said they would refund our deposit but as of today we haven%26#39;t gotten it back on our credit card. I found a great deal through an owner at vrbo (Emerald Beach Resort) now we will be paying less than we were going to pay to begin with. What a nightmare.

Thanks for sharing your story. I was wondering how they handled that. Hope everything works out. Ya%26#39;ll are going end of June aren%26#39;t you? Baseball tournaments if I remember right?

Yes we are going for the tournaments and for most of us this will be vacation. The tourney runs Thurs-Sunday so we will have a couple of days to enjoy the beach as well as in between. June 17th can%26#39;t get here soon enough.
