Port Orleans - Which one?

Hoping to go to Orlando for a week in October, depending on work wont be booking till last minute so doing homework now.

Looking at staying on-site @ WDW considering Port Orleans but not sure which one to pick FQ or RS.

Will be just me %26amp; husband, we have no kids .

We are big disney fans, love the magic!

Could anyone give me pros or cons of both please.

Thanks

Port Orleans - Which one?

We prefer the French Quarter. It%26#39;s smaller, a little more intimate. The only drawback is that it doesn%26#39;t have a sit-down restaurant on-site, but that isn%26#39;t a drawback for us because we wouldn%26#39;t use it anyway. We grab a bite to eat at the counter-service area in the morning and take it outside to enjoy (the courtyard areas here are absolutely beautiful).

We always request a corner room, river-view, in Bldg. 5. The view is wonderful, and it%26#39;s a short walk across the courtyard gardens to the bus pick-up/park lot area. The Riverside is a lot larger, so you spend a lot more time walking to/from the bus pickup/parking area. (more of an issue at the end of the day when you%26#39;re tired).

The size is the main thing that keeps us coming back to the POFQ, the other resorts are so large and spread-out, we like being close to the lobby, the shops, the food court, pool bar, etc. The way it%26#39;s set up makes you feel as if you%26#39;re actually IN New Orleans!

Both FQ and RS have their advantages.

Most folks who like FQ think RS is too spread out, but it really isn%26#39;t that bad. You%26#39;re never really that far from the main building due to the shortcuts, and there are four bus stops around the perimeter of the resort, not just one.

I love the garden feel of RS and the winding paths of the Alligator Bayou section are nice to stroll around. You never really get lost as there are plenty of signs directing you to where you need to go.

Some other amenities include a great main pool, with several quiet pools located near every building, fishing hole, butterfly garden, boat rental place, surrey bike rentals, horse-drawn carriage rides, a game room for the kids, etc.

Here are some webpages showing photos of each resort. Perhaps by looking at them you can make your decision better:
