Hi! I just booked the South Beach Marriott fot $107/night Jun 28- 2 July, but noticed the pool will be under construction. Is this still a good deal? We stayed at the Eden Roc last year -- but want to be within walking distance of South Beach this time. The Marriott will be great if it%26#39;s not a noisy mess! Anyone have eyes on the construction? Has it started? Is the Marriott still a good bet? If not any suggestions for a nearing 40 couple who like good restarants and a good club atmosphere (but will be in bed way before 3 a.m.)?
Thanks! --OW

If you can do without the pool, then that is a good price, especially if
they give an oceanview with balcony. You can call the hotel and
get more details about the construction%26#39;s effect on the rest of
the hotel as well as finding out if they have made arrangements
with another hotel for pool usage. They should at least provide
you with chaise lounges and umbrellas at the beach, If you join
Marriott rewards, you are very likely to get an upgrade in room.
You can walk five blocks and begin to hit everything on Ocean Drive and take the 25 cent circulator to Lincoln Road if you
do not want to walk sixteen blocks.

Great will do. Do you have any suggestions for retaurants in the Marriott%26#39;s vicinity? We went to Touch last yer and like it. --OW
Oscar,AG is the restuarant expert, but it dosn%26#39;t hurt to go back
to a place you enjoyed before like Touch. IMO DC has some
great restaurants that compare with the best of SOBE so I
would look for something more indigenous to SOBE like
oceanside dining, Joes, or a good cuban restaurant.
